Why Choose to Swim for Central Chesapeake Swimming?
We believe that children should first learn proper stroke techniques and once those skills are in place training can begin. Physical conditioning takes place while the proper stroke techniques are being learned. We believe that children 10 years old and younger need to only train 2 to 3 hours per week to obtain these skills.
If you decided to have your child take piano lessons would you make sure to choose a piano teacher who had a reputation of teaching how to play the piano correctly or would you just choose someone to teach piano and hope they taught the skills correctly?
We have a long track record of success using a lot of teaching and minimal training for younger swimmers. 10 and 12 year old swimmers have qualified for Zone teams having the emphasis on stroke technique. Then between the ages of 13 and 15 if a swimmer has the desire to pursue swimming success we have a great record of moving them to National level success.
Every swimmer entering our program is important and is treated the same-it doesn’t matter if they are a novice just beginning swimming or have already had some success in swimming.
